NSW: Motorcyclist shot at in western Sydney

SYDNEY, Dec 3 AAP - A motorcycle rider and his pillion passenger have been taken to
hospital after being shot at as they rode along a western Sydney highway, police say.

The Harley Davidson rider and his female passenger were riding along the Great Western
Highway in Mays Hill on Tuesday, when they were shot at from a dark-coloured sedan just
before midnight (AEDT).

The man was hit a number of times, causing him and his passenger to fall from the bike.

They were taken to Westmead Hospital but their injuries were not considered life threatening,
police said.

A police spokesman would not confirm reports the rider was a member of the Gypsy Jokers
bikie gang.

Three lanes of the highway were closed as police on Wednesday morning investigated the shooting.
