VIC:Man stabbed in Melbourne attack

MELBOURNE, April 6 AAP - A man was stabbed in the shoulder and then in the back as
he tried to flee his attacker in Melbourne's west.

Police said the attacker called out to the victim, then lunged at him with a knife
as he approached just before 8pm (AEST) on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old victim ran to a medical centre in Footscray where he phoned paramedics.

He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are hunting for a man of African appearance aged in his late 20s.
