TROY - Rensselaer County Executive Kathleen Jimino is up for election this year, but she hasn't been invited to any debates or even a meet-the-candidatesrally.

You won't see her campaign signs in the roadside thickets of corrugated plastic placards. There aren't even any glossy mailers singing her praises.

There isn't any need for that stuff this year. Jimino's a shoo-in.

She's running unopposed this year, a first for a county executive office created in the early 1970s.
