Muniyappa, Lee share lead in Indian Open

Chinaswamy Muniyappa and Lee Sung shared the lead Friday after the second round of the Indian Open.

Muniyappa shot 3-under 69 to get to 135 overall, while Lee (70) dropped a shot on the 17th hole to lose sole possession of the lead. Starting his round with a birdie, the South Korean sank two more birdies before the bogey on the 17th.

Muniyappa, who has not won an Asian Tour event, bogeyed the par-5 14th hole but bounced back with four birdies.

"My ball-striking has been good until now, but I missed a few putts on the back nine," the Indian golfer said.

Adam Blyth, who led after the first round, shot a 72 to share third place at 136 with Indian golfer Digvijay Singh (68). Blyth's round featured five bogeys, four of them on the back nine.

"I was cruising along nicely, but then it all went wrong on the back nine," the Australian said. "It was really just bad luck."

Former U.S. Open champion Michael Campbell (67) is at 143, just behind Mardan Mamat (69) at 142. Three former Indian Open champions _ Ali Sher (73), Vijay Kumar (74) and Thaworn Wiratchant (74) _ failed to make the cut of 145.
