Sam Lomas, 20, called police at 6am on November 1 and told them he had been in an accident on the A6 at Ashford-in-the-Water.
"He said he had been drink-driving and had rolled his car. Police saw the vehicle resting on its nearside at the side of the carriageway.
"A small tree had been severed and was half on the verge and half in the road. He said: 'I admit I'm a drink-driver'," prosecutor Becky Mahon told Chesterfield magistrates.
Lomas failed a roadside breath test and was arrested. Two hours later he gave a reading of 279mgs of alcohol in 100mls of urine, the limit being 107mgs.
