QLD: Aged care homes rally for federal funds

More than 1,000 elderley people and supporters will rally in Brisbane today to protest
against gross underfunding for frail aged care.

MICHAEL ISAAC from Aged Care Queensland who care for more than 30,000 frail aged people
says protesters will be bused into the city for the midday rally and are hoping to draw
attention to their situation.

Mr ISAAC says nursing homes in Queensland receive the lowest federal subsidy in Australia.

He says Queensland has been underfunded since 1987 and there's no early breakthrough in sight.
