NSW: Motorists upset about demerit system: Stoner

SYDNEY, Feb 23 AAP - NSW motorists have the right to be angry over the government's
failure to implement a review of demerit penalties for minor speeding offences, the opposition
says.

The NSW government says it will make an announcement "within days" about reducing demerit
points for such offences.

More than 60,000 motorists lost their licences across NSW in 2008, with the current
system stripping drivers of three demerit points for exceeding a speed limit by less than
15 kilometres per hour.
